Being Prepared Reduces Stress

How do being prepared and having food storage reduce stress in your life?

For me, stress is relieved by

  • Not having to rush to the grocery store after a trip.
  • Not having to go to the store when I’m sick.
  • Not having to stand in line at stores for last-minute supplies when a hurricane is coming.
  • Not having to go to the store for milk or bread at the last minute or late at night (or early in the morning).
  • Knowing I won’t run out of ingredients when cooking and baking.
  • Knowing my diet won’t change that much if I can’t go to the grocery store.
  • Knowing I can do some gardening
  • Knowing I can preserve my own food
  • Knowing I have most first aid supplies and over-the-counter medications when they are needed.
  • Knowing I have back-up lighting.
  • Knowing I have an emergency heat source.
  • Knowing I have solar phone chargers
  • Knowing I have emergency water supplies
  • Knowing I can survive having the water off in the house for a few days
  • Knowing I can survive without electricity
