WHOLE WHEAT RAISIN SCONES

1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup all purpose flour
2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons powdered buttermilk
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup golden raisins
3/4 cup water

Stir together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Stir in raisins and water just until moistened. With floured hands, pat dough into a 9-inch round on a greased baking sheet. Cut into 8 wedges. Pull out every other wedge with a pie server to separate scones. Bake at 400o for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on a cooling rack for a few minutes before serving.
