4 pieces chicken (2 thighs, 2 drumsticks)
4 strips bacon, cut in half

Skin the chicken pieces. Partially cook the bacon in a pan, reserving the grease. Pour half the grease in the bottom of the cooking pot and spread around. Place the chicken in the pot and pour the remaining grease over them. Salt and pepper the chicken to taste. Lay the bacon pieces over the chicken. Place pot in solar oven and cook for 3 hours. The chicken comes out very moist and tender.

Note: Breading or flouring the chicken is not necessary. Quite a bit of water leaves the chicken, as it does with Dutch oven chicken. A brand chicken that doesnít inject water could be used if you donít want the excess water in the pan.

For 12 pieces of chicken
The chicken could be layered in the pot with the bacon. Cook for 4-5 hours.
